For all hikes: Bring lunch, liquid and clothing appropriate for the season (summer fog, winter rain).
Some hikes may be canceled or changed due to the weather; please see statement in each hike description.
Call the hike leader if you are not sure.
For trail maintenance: Wear long pants, boots, and long-sleeved shirt and bring gloves as well as lunch and liquid.

Trail Maintenance - Skyline to the Sea Trailó Al Lisin, (408) 252-8106, leads a group that maintains the Skyline to the Sea Trail. This group now meets on the first Saturday of the month. The group meets at 9:00 am. Please call Al for meeting place (which changes).

El Sereno Open Space Preserve in Los Gatos Starting place16700-16798 Madrone Ave, Los Gatos. Itís street parking in a quiet residential area. So, please keep your voice down at the meeting place. Out and back hike. The first 0.8 miles is on steep paved road through a secluded neighborhood. There is no map, no water, and no facilites. The reward is panoramic views of South Bay and Lexington Reservoir, which is filled to the brim right now. On clear days, you can see all the way to San Francisco on one end and Monterey Bay on the other. Santa Teresa County Park; Starting from Pueblo day use area, hike Mine trail towards Stile Ranch trail. Cross Bernal Rd. Hike Bernal hill trail, Norred trail, Hidden Spring trail. Have lunch at Pueblo Day use area. After lunch hike up-hill toward Coyote Peak. Rocky Ridge trail back. We will hike more miles before lunch than after, so eat more at breakfast or bring a snack. Sunol Regional Park/Wilderness , We will enjoy an approx. 9 mile hike starting at Indian Joe Trail. With all the rain I'm thinking Little Yosemite will be quite a sight! Also plenty of wildflowers. San Bruno Mountain State and County Park 8 miles moderate hike on Summit Loop and Ridge Trails, possibly additional time and miles on Saddle Loop Trail or Bog Trail for different wildflowers, if time permits. Carpool from Page Mill-280 Park and Ride at 8:45 a.m. or meet at the park's main parking lot off Guadalupe Canyon Parkway at 9:30. Hike leader Candace.

Edgewood County Park We'll wander around most of the trails, looking for wildflowers, around 6-7 miles I'm guessing. TIME CHANGE DUE TO CROWDED PARKING: Please try to carpool from PageMill and 280, leaving at 8:35 or if necessary, meet at 9a.m. at Bill&Jean Lane Education Center up path from main parking lot on Edgewood. If lot is full, park along Edgewood Road. Carpool from Page Mill & 280 at 9:05 or meet directly at Bill and Jean Lane Education Center adjacent to main parking lot off Edgewood Road. Henry Coe State Park Notes special start time for this docent-led hike. Bob Kass will lead another, different hike at Henry Coe Park. We will travel to the Dowdy entrance, off hwy 152. Mitchell Canyon - Mount Diablo SPOn the Clayton side of the mountain, hike up Mitchell Canyon, along Meridian ridge, and loop back down through Donner Canyon. This is a moderately challenging hike of about 10 miles, 1900' elevation gain, with lots of rewards. In addition to the views, there should be water in the waterfalls this year, and plenty of wildflowers including the yellow Mt. Diablo Globe Tulip and the diminutive pink Claytonia. Treats and hike planning after the hike. 8:00 Carpool from lot next to Sunnyvale Hobee's (800 W. Ahwanee Ave). 9:30 hike from Mitchell Cyn Interpretive Center. Sanborn County Park Hike Location: Sanborn County park in Saratoga located off Highway 9 on Sanborn Road. We will hike the Sanborn trail up to and past the Skyline junction for 4 miles one way and returning via the San Andreas trail. The trail is shaded most of the way. Car-pool 8:45 from Parkmoor and Meridian; OR 9:10 from city parking lot behind La Fondue restaurant, 4th St. Saratoga Hike leader Jumana Latif 408-515-6334. Parking fees are $6.00 per car.

Pescadero Creek County Park Start from the Tarwater trail head hike Tarwater trail, Canyon trail, East brook trail Pomponio trail, have lunch at Shaw Flat trail camp, continue on Pomponio trail and Shingle Mill trail back to the cars. Monte Bello Open Space Preserve Meet at the Page Mill / Hwy 280 Park and Ride at 9am for a no host carpool -- or meet hike leader at the Monte Bello parking lot at 9:30am for an 8 mile loop hike to and from Black Mtn. Take Canyon Trail to Indian Creek Trail to Black Mtn. where we will have lunch at the rock garden near the towers. Returning via Old Ranch Trail., Adobe Creek Trail, looping back to Monte Bello Rd., Bella Vista Trail, and Canyon Trail. Many wildflowers were noted during the scouting of this hike on April 23rd, but may well be gone by June. Moderately strenuous on a few of the steeper trails, but a good, aerobic work-out nonetheless. Great views overlooking the bay. Hike to be followed by beer consumption at Alpine Inn for those interested. No-host carpool 9:00 Page Mill/280 Park and Ride, or 9:30 at Montebello parking lot.
