For all hikes: Bring lunch, liquid and clothing appropriate for the season (summer fog, winter rain).
Some hikes may be canceled or changed due to the weather; please see statement in each hike description.
Call the hike leader if you are not sure.
For trail maintenance: Wear long pants, boots, and long-sleeved shirt and bring gloves as well as lunch and liquid.

COWELL-PURISIMA TRAIL 7.2 bluff trail out and back south of Half Moon Bay. There's beach access at the north end for early lunch. Meet at Page Mill Park and Ride at 8:40 or at southern end of trail (about 6+ miles south of Half Moon Bay on Hwy 1; make a right turn into the parking lot.) There are restrooms there. Trail Maintenance - Skyline to the Sea Trail— Al Lisin, (408) 252-8106, leads a group that maintains the Skyline to the Sea Trail. This group now meets on the first Saturday of the month. The group meets at 9:00 am. Please call Al for meeting place (which changes).

Butano State Park Will hike Jackson flats trl., Canyon trl., Have lunch. Hike Indian trl., Doe ridge trl., Goat hill trl. and Ano Nueva trl. toward the cars. Approximately 9-mile loop, 1200 feet elevation change. Carpool at Page Mill/Hwy280 park & ride lot at 8.30am. Or meet at parking lot at Butano State Park at 9.30am Vivian 408.238.3388

Windy Hill Preserve Razorback Ridge Trail to Lost Trail, return on Hamm's Gulch. This 9.8 mile hike is always a perfect hike. Lots of shade. 1800 ft. elevation gain, moderate difficulty. Meet at 9:30 am at the intersection of Alpine Road and Willowbrook Road in Portola Valley. Carpool 9:10 am at 280/Page Mill Road Park n' Ride. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and your lunch. Castle Rock State Park Trail Maintenance— The third Saturday of every month Kevin McDevitt leads trail work in the Castle Rock area. Meet at Saratoga Gap parking lot at 9:00. Wunderlich County Park Around a 10 mile hike with 1500 foot elevation. Will have lunch at El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space. No host carpool at Page Mill at 8:35, host carpool at rear of the Pioneer Hotel in Woodside, upper parking lot at Woodside Road and Whiskey Hill Road at 8:40 (lot closer to Whiskey Hill) or at 9 A.M. at Wunderlich. Sanborn County Park We will hike the Peterson Trail to San Andreas Trail to Sanborn Trail, lunch at the Indian Rocks and return via other trails for sort of a loop hike. Approximately 9 miles. Mount Tamalpais Hike : Pantoll to Muir Woods Start hike at 9 am at Pantoll Ranger Station and take Boot Jack trail to Muir Woods. After a stroll in Muir Woods, we’ll take Ben Johnson to Dipsea to Steep Ravine back to Pantoll - about 9 miles and 2000' elevation. Moderate to strenuous hike, due to elevation change and steps and ladder at Steep Ravine trail. Rain Cancels. Car Pool 7:40am at Page Mill Park and Ride, or Meet at 9:00 am Pantoll Parking Lot. Peter 650-521-4165 Pantoll parking is $8 per car. (Pantoll parking lot fills up early on weekends - if you cannot find parking, you can try Boot Jack lot, just couple of minutes uphill.)

Foothills Park-Arastradero Preserve Starting at the Nature Interpretive Center in Foothills Park, we will meander along the many interconnected trails in this park and in neighboring Arastradero Preserve. (Note: Los Trancos Trail is under repair and is not expected to be reopened until October.) The heat of the day and the wishes of the group will determine total mileage, not to exceed 10 miles, modest elevation gain. For those who want a shorter hike, route will include several stopping points. Carpool from Page Mill/280 Park and Ride at 8:45 am or meet at Foothills Park Nature Interpretive Center at 9:00 a.m. If there is not a Palo Alto resident in your car, meet hike leader Candace at the park entry gate, 3300 Page Mill Road, at 8:55 a.m.

Big Basin - Berry Creek Falls and hike planning Beautiful redwoods and waterfalls on this moderately strenuous, ten-mile plus loop hike. From Park HQ we will take the Skyline to the sea trail to Berry Creek falls, up the falls trail to Sunset trail back. We will plan hikes for October, November, and December over drinks and treats after the hike. 8:00 am car-pool at the parking lot behind La Fondue restaurant, 4th St. Saratoga; or meet at Park HQ. at 9:00am. Huddart Park - Kings Mountain Faire I plan on hiking up to the Faire thru Huddart Park, spend about an hour and a half there so hikers can have time for a bite to eat, have a craft beer and look at the art. Then we will hike back thru the Phleger Estate. If you don't wish to stay at the Faire, organize your carpools to accommodate this. Around ten miles and 1500 feet elevation gain and loss. No host carpool at Page Mill Road at 8:30, host carpool behind the Pioneer Hotel in Woodside at the intersection of Woodside Road and Whiskey Hill Road. El Corte de Madera OSP Moderate to strenuous 9 mile hike with plenty of ups and downs also plenty of shade. We will visit a giant tafoni sandstone formation and perhaps an old Redwood grove.
