For all hikes: Bring lunch, liquid and clothing appropriate for the season (summer fog, winter rain).
Some hikes may be canceled or changed due to the weather; please see statement in each hike description.
Call the hike leader if you are not sure.
For trail maintenance: Wear long pants, boots, and long-sleeved shirt and bring gloves as well as lunch and liquid.

Trail Maintenance - Skyline to the Sea Trail— Al Lisin, (408) 252-8106, leads a group that maintains the Skyline to the Sea Trail. This group now meets on the first Saturday of the month. The group meets at 9:00 am. Please call Al for meeting place (which changes).

Portola Redwoods State Park We will hike Slate Creek Trail towards Ward Truck trail and return on the same trail. The trails are shaded. Please bring mosquito repellent! Castle Rock State Park Trail Maintenance— The third Saturday of every month Kevin McDevitt leads trail work in the Castle Rock area. Meet at Saratoga Gap parking lot at 9:00. Call Kevin at (408) 733-3333. Bring boots and gloves, lunch and liquid. Tools are supplied but bring your own favorites if you prefer.

Sweeney Ridge/Mori Point Approximately 9 mile hike starting at 9:00 at Sweeney Ridge, Shelldance Nursery parking lot. We will hike Mori Ridge trail to Baquiano Trail to some city streets in Pacifica to Rockaway Beach for lunch. Then we will proceed to Mori Point and return to the Shelldance parking lot. An opportunity to visit the Orchid greenhouses/store is optional. Carpool from 8:00 Page Mill/280, or meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Sweeney Ridge Parking lot in Pacifica at Shelldance Nursery. Pescadero Creek County Park From the Tarwater trail head, hike the Tarwater trail, Canyon trail, East brook trail, and Pomponio trail. Eat lunch at Shaw Flat trail camp. Continue on Pomponio trail and Shingle Mill trail back to the cars. Moderate hike of about 10 miles. Heavy rain/wind cancels. Carpool at Page Mill & 280 Park & Ride 8:40. Directions to Pescadero Creek Park: from Page Mill park and ride, take Page Mill to Alpine Road, left on Pomponio road to Tarwater Trailhead parking. Big Basin - Berry Creek Falls and hike planning Beautiful redwoods and waterfalls on this moderately strenuous, ten-mile plus loop hike. From Park HQ we will take the Skyline to the Sea trail to Berry Creek falls, up the falls trail to Sunset trail back. We will plan hikes for October, November, and December over drinks and treats after the hike. 8:00 am car-pool at the parking lot behind La Fondue restaurant, 4th St. Saratoga; or meet at Park HQ. at 9:00am. Presidio Take Coastal trail towards the Bridge, passing by Crissy field, Palace of Fine Arts and lunch near Lettermen Square and tour Presidio in the afternoon. Huddart Park - Kings Mountain Faire I plan on hiking up to the Faire thru Huddart Park and back since Phleger Estate trails are closed. I will spend about an hour and a half tat the Faire so hikers can have time for a bite to eat, have a craft beer and look at the art. If you don't wish to stay at the Faire, organize your carpools to accommodate this. Around ten miles and 1500 feet elevation gain and loss. If you do't wish to go to the Faire the hike is 8 miles.
